UPDATE: Americans are responding to the #TellAmericaItsGreat campaign with a little neighbourly love of their own.
The hashtag, which encourages Canadians to show a little love to their US neighbours, has been trending on twitter for days. Now, another twitter campaign is seeing Americans show their gratitude.
#ThankYouCanada! For real though, you guys are the real MVPs. This election cycle is depressing. #tellamericanitsgreat #TellCanadaThanks pic.twitter.com/jeQBRHo0w2

ORIGINAL STORY:
Canadian friendliness once again made the internet swoon this weekend when a video surfaced of a whole bunch of Canadians telling America why they think it’s so great
The video features clips of smiling Canucks jauntily listing off the reasons they appreciate their neighbour to the south. The diverse cast lists everything from the inventors of the internet, iconic rappers Tupac and Notorious B.I.G. to the country’s national parks and humanitarian relief efforts.
The video is a project of the Toronto-based agency The Garden, which said in a blog post it created the video because America needed “a little cheering up.”
“It’s no secret that America is going through a hard time right now … They’ve been bombarded with a tremendous amount of negativity and it’s likely that for many of them, the immediate future seems rather bleak,” the post reads.
“As their closest friends and neighbours, we thought it was important for us to do something to cut through the negativity and help remind them that no matter how bad things might seem, there are a lot of reasons to believe that America is still pretty great.”
Nothing more Canadian than barraging America with compliments to help them turn up morale. #tellamericaitsgreat https://t.co/Z3CxEan5X6
