The sequel to popular app ‘Vine’ is launching soon

At its peak, video looping app Vine was just as, if not more, popular than Snapchat and Instagram.

In 2013, the app had 200-million active users, who used the app’s six-second video looping function to create some of the most hilarious and admittedly dumb comedy of the decade.

After being purchased by Twitter, Vine sadly came to an end at the beginning of 2017.

Last year, Vine’s co-founder Dom Hofmann tweeted out a simple image in the app’s trademark green that read “V2,” only to announce shortly that development on V2 had been halted.

However, Hoffman has once again excited the internet with a Tweet today announcing "Byte" and confirming it will launch next spring.

A lot has changed since Vine's peak in 2013/2014 and society can only hope that the "Byte" will fix the world's troubles.
