Environment Canada has updated tonight's special weather warning for the Okanagan region.
"A vigorous cold front will bring strong winds gusting 60 to 80 km/h to Southern BC tonight," read the statement.
"There is also a risk of thunderstorms over the Thompson, Shuswap and Okanagan regions with local rainfall amounts of 5 to 10 mm expected."
According to Environment Canada, the strong winds combined with high water levels could result in increased wave action that may impact shorelines and lakeside roads.
The saturated ground will also increase the chances of downed trees from strong winds.
