Slippery, snowy conditions on the Connector

The latest storm to roll through the Okanagan has left its mark in Kelowna, but it’s also wreaking havoc on the Connector.

A weather alert from Environment Canada calls for near or below freezing temperatures for some interior highway passes.

This has created slippery conditions and in some cases, reduced visibility.

There is visible snow on the Connector, which has prompted another warning from DriveBC about the slippery conditions.

An extra few centimetres of snow could fall on Wednesday morning as the storm continues to pass through the region.

A warning from Environment Canada is also in place for the Coquihalla, although DriveBC webcams show no snow on the highway as of 6 a.m. on Wednesday.

The near or below freezing temperatures could have still produced slippery conditions, however, and motorists are advised to drive carefully.
