City of Penticton delays de-icing until temperatures rise

Penticton residents are cautioned to drive to the conditions, as the city has delayed de-icing until temperatures rise.

The city issued a statement saying that they will wait until Thursday or Friday to de-ice, as temperatures are too low to melt compact snow and ice today.

People are being told to take their time and allow some extra time in travel plans until operations can continue.

The weather forecast is calling for periods of snow tonight, ending tomorrow morning.

The high is forecasted at -4°C tomorrow, and Environment Canada notes that a wind chill of -12°C is expected.

Flurries are expected on Friday, with a high of -8°C.

Stay warm out there, and take your time if you have to brave the roads!
