It's going be a good weekend to stay in town, according to the forecast for these major BC highways.
Environment Canada says that they are expecting 20 to 30 cm of snowfall on Highway 3 and the Trans Canada Highway (Hwy1) tonight and tomorrow.
“An approaching frontal system will track across the BC interior tonight and tomorrow. Snow from the system will begin this afternoon and become heavier tonight,” says Environment Canada.
“Total snowfall amounts of 20 to 30 cm can be expected by Sunday evening before the snow tapers off to a few flurries or rain showers.”
Drivers are warned to be cautious if you plan on travelling. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly, resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
Monitor DriveBC and Environment Canada for the most recent road conditions.
