Give your commute a few extra minutes this morning

The Okanagan’s first snowfall didn’t seem like much on Thursday.

It started falling just after noon, but the ground remained wet in central Kelowna as the snow only stuck at higher elevations.

That changed on Thursday evening, however, as temperatures dropped and the ground slowly turned white.

Kelowna received about 10 to 15 cms of snow, which was predicted by Environment Canada, and higher elevations received even more.

Plows are already out and the main routes are looking pretty good, but you’ll still need extra time to scrape off and warm up your vehicle this morning.

On top of that, add a few minutes to your commute to school or work so you can drive slow and stay safe on the slick roads, especially the ones that haven’t been visited by plows yet.
