It looks as though it is going to be a wet Canada Day in Kamloops.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the Central Interior, which includes the North and South Thompson.
Between Wednesday and Thursday, anywhere from 20 to 40 millimetres of rain could fall in the region. The highest rainfall is expected over the mountains, though widespread synoptic rain and thunderstorms will have the potential of adding 15 to 25 mm over short periods.
"A low-pressure system developing over Southern Alberta today will intensify as it moves northward into Northern Alberta by Wednesday evening," wrote Environment Canada. "The system will funnel rain across the central interior."
"Showers will transition into rain, heavy at times, tonight or Wednesday morning. The rain will taper off on Thursday morning, but showers are likely Thursday afternoon."
