Tomorrow could be the coldest November 7th in 100 years

According to Kelowna based Environment Canada meteorologist Doug Lundquist, a new record cold temperature for November 7th could be set early Tuesday morning.

"Our records only go back about a 100 years, but the record low for November 7th is -9.5 C and Environment Canada is forecasting minus -11 C for early Tuesday morning," said Lundquist. "So we could definitely see back to back record breaking cold temperatures for Monday and Tuesday."

According to Environment Canada, The coldest temperature ever recorded for November 6th was broken early Monday morning after temperatures hit -11.5 C, breaking the previous record cold of -9.4 C that was set on November 6th in 2003.

"It will be a good temperature for ice wine, so maybe they will take some ice wine grapes off in places," said Lundquist. "It was -8 C downtown and that's about what they need for ice wine so this might be good news for ice wine lovers."

However, warmer temperatures are forecast for later this week.

The first half of the week will stay in the negatives, but after Wednesday the city will warm up slightly.

Thursday and Friday are calling for above zero daytime temperatures with a chance on flurries in the evenings.
