Temperature records were shattered around the province on Thursday, including right here in Kelowna.

Thermometers reached 37°C in Kelowna, which was well hotter than the previous record.

According to Environment Canada, the previous July 6th high was set more than 100 years ago when it reached 33.3°C in 1904.

Prior to Thursday, the record was almost beaten in 2011 when temperatures reached 33.2°C

There’s a chance that temperature records will fall again on Friday as well.

The high was 36°C, but is now listed at 35°C, which wouldn’t be enough to beat the July 6th, 1970 record of 35.6°C, however, it’s still very much a possibility.

How are you beating the record breaking heat?
