Mill Creek is a great trail for a short afternoon adventure!
Not only is it shaded by beautiful trees, but it also has a gorgeous waterfall at the end to take a nice refreshing dip in during the hot summer months.
Directions we followed:
Take Old Vernon Road off Highway 97 N and turn onto Spencer Road. The parking lot is on the right hand side.
The trail, which runs through Mill Creek Regional Park, has two different paths you may follow. Once you enter the park, however, they do meet up further down in a loop so you can experience more scenery!
The first waterfall has a great pooling area below to take a swim! To get to the second set of falls, you must follow a steeper trail so make sure you have proper shoes.
The trail overall took us roughly 45 minutes, including dipping our feet in the water. I have been told this can be an active bear area, so if you plan to have a picnic, please remember to take only photos and leave nothing but footprints!
Hike difficulty: Easy/Moderate
Attire needed:
Hiking shoes/runners
Backpack with water/snacks
Whistle/bear spray/bear bell (I always have my bear bell on my pack just as a precaution)
This park is only 20 minutes from downtown Kelowna just northeast of the airport. If you want to see a waterfall but don't have a full day set aside, the first fall is only 10 minutes from the parking lot. Super quick and easy to get to!
I hope you enjoy these falls and have time to take a short swim!
