2015-08-27 22:00:00 2015-08-27 16:00:00 America/Vancouver The Pistolwhips Since January of 2015 The Pistolwhips have been working their asses off touring the country. They have seen 28 Canadian cities from Tofino, BC to Charlottetown, PEI and they aren't done yet. The band plans to continue their momentum with another Western tour in August heading from Winnipeg to Vancouver with a stop headlining the Golden Sound Festival (www.goldensoundfestival.com) in Golden, BC. The Saskatoon based band infuses indie rock songs with bluesy guitars, driving rhythms, and hooky vocals. Singer/guitarist Rylan Schultz, bassist Zach Davies, drummer Tallus Scott, and guitarist Paul Kuzbik draw their audiences in with their high energy, good times and soul rock sessions. Taking influence from bands like Led Zeppelin, The Arctic Monkeys, and Cold War Kids, their four strong personalities are easily identifiable throughout their songs. “This dynamic Saskatoon four-piece melds the bluesy sounds of their hometown brothers in rock The Sheepdogs with the alt-rock howl of Kings of Leon. Add a psychedelic twist and you’ve got a great Saskatchewan summer storm of a tune.” Grant Lawrence CBC Radio 3 Their live stage performance led the band to play multiple festivals and showcases across Canada this past year such as Canadian Music Week, Juno-Fest, Dauphin Country Fest, Mosofest, SaskTel Jazz Festival, and it also led them to be one of the few bands to play the Red Bull Tour bus on two different occasions as support for The Sheepdogs and Monster Truck. They received a $10,000 prize from their local rock station RAWLCO Radio in 2014 and just returned from their first trip overseas where they spent a week showcasing in London, England. Their current album “On Your Side” was named Best Album of 2014 by Saskatoon’s local arts paper Planet S Magazine.
