2024-05-03 18:00:00 2024-05-03 22:00:00 America/Vancouver Fundraiser for OVAD with Mamas For Mamas Train Wreck Comedy is teaming up with The Okanagan Valley Association of the Deaf and Mamas For Mamas to shake things up and make a real difference! We’re on a mission to give families of Deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Interior B.C. an unforgettable experience at Green Bay Bible Camp from August 26-29th, 2024. Interpreters of ASL will make the comedy show accessible to the deaf community. Doors Open: 6:00 PM Show Starts: 8:00 PM Make sure to have some extra cash handy for the silent auction, 50/50, raffle, and wine draws—it’s your ticket to winning big! Why? Because we’re all about spreading joy, promoting inclusion, and building connections! We want to create a language-rich ASL (American Sign Language) environment filled with positivity and awesome Deaf role models. These families often feel isolated in different communities and struggle to access resources and inclusive events. Plus, let’s not forget the financial strain of providing auditory equipment and support for their kiddos. So, mark your calendars for Friday, May 3rd, and get ready to chuckle for a cause at the Kelowna Curling Club! It will be a night to remember with the one and only Allyson Smith headlining a stacked show! Make sure to have some extra cash handy for the silent auction, 50/50, raffle, and wine draws—it’s your ticket to winning big! Meet your Train Wreck Comedy Comedians for the night! Your host with the most Rob Balsdon With a knack for blending brutal honesty, irresistible charm, and lightning-fast wit, Rob lights up stages across the Okanagan Valley. Founder of Train Wreck Comedy, he’s curated the region’s top stand-up show. Sharing laughter with comedy greats like Gerry Dee, Brent Butt and Norm MacDonald, Rob’s infectious smile is almost as legendary as his jokes. Special Guest Joey Commisso With a unique perspective and off-beat style, Joey Commisso is a great comedy experience for people from all walks of life. Covering a wide range of topics, Joey has performed comedy all over Canada, and the U.S.A and has been part of the Comedy scene in Europe performing in Paris. He’s been nominated for a Vancouver comedy award and performed at the JFL Vancouver festival and Standup NBC. Headliner Allyson June Smith Allyson’s comedy journey is a riotous ride from Canada to the UK, where she’s spreading laughter like confetti. Career highlights include high-profile slots at the Winnipeg, Halifax and Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival. And that was just the start. In the years that followed she received multiple nominations for Best Female Stand-up at the Canadian Comedy Awards, taped her own Comedy Now special and did stints on MuchMusic’s Video on Trial and CBC’s The Debaters. Allyson June Smith is the queen of comedy connection! With her razor-sharp wit and self-deprecating charm, she turns every show into an intimate group therapy session. From sharing hilarious stories to bonding with fans, she’s got that special something that brings audiences together like old pals. No wonder she’s loved worldwide!
