Mother Mother’s Dance and Cry Tour Comes to the Kelowna Community Theatre
Back with their seventh studio album, Dance and Cry, Mother Mother has announced their 2019 North American Tour. The Dance and Cry Tour is the band’s most extensive to date, kicking off in the US on January 12 and hitting 40 cities across the continent.
“Now for our favourite part, playing the music live. We love it all, writing it, making it, adorning it with art, but it’s letting the songs unfurl into the open air with all of you that truly makes this a dream job,” said Ryan Guldemond. “Can’t wait to bring the songs of Dance and Cry to a venue near you.”
The Vancouver-based band’s new album features 12 tracks, all of which were written by lead singer Ryan Guldemond and produced by Guldemond and Ben Kaplan. The songs on Dance and Cry relate back to an organic, stripped-down sound that reflects the bands earlier material and share themes of survival, self-reflection, sorrow and happiness. “Get Up” the lead single off the album has been met with much fanfare, impressively rocketing into the top five and nabbing the title of #1 most added song at Canada Alternative Rock radio in its first week of release.
The Juno and MMVA nominated a Vancouver-based band, comprised of Ryan Guldemond, Molly Guldemond, Jasmin Parkin, Ali Siadat and Mike Young, has had a whirlwind decade; garnering six top 10 singles on the alt-rock Canadian charts and 41 million streams and counting on digital platforms.
