2018-10-19 19:30:00 2018-10-19 21:30:00 America/Vancouver Jen Maurer & Anthony Papaleo House Concert Jen Maurer and Anthony Papaleo share a love and passion for American Roots music. Not one particular kind of roots music, but all of them! Ragtime, Old-School Blues, Jug Band, Early Jazz, Swing, Old-Time, Country, Cajun and Zydeco. (Think Joseph Lamb and Scott Joplin; Memphis Minnie and Bo Carter; Gus Cannon and the Memphis Jug Band; Django and Ella; Buddy Thomas and Arthur Smith; Patsy Cline and Buck Owens; Belton Richard and Boozoo Chavis.) They are blessed with a rare musical partnership that is the coming together of their experiences with each of these genres. Musical soulmates they are indeed! Traveling from the U.S. they can’t bring every musical instrument that they would utilize on their home turf, but they will wow you with acoustic guitars, fiddle, and upright bass. Both are lead and harmony singers so you’ll get plenty of vocals for the evening too. With their band Mo' Mojo, Jen & Anthony are "musical ambassadors", having toured 9 countries (Haiti, Dominican Republic, Belize, Panama, Mexico, Barbados, Colombia, Tajikistan, and Sri Lanka) with the mission of sharing goodwill and good music with the peoples of the world through the American Music Abroad program. Don’t miss your opportunity to see these accomplished musicians in an intimate living room concert. Tickets are available at ABC Hobby in Kelowna, Mad Hatter Bookstore in West Kelowna (CASH ONLY PLEASE) or online at lanternfolk.ca. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Saturday, Sep 29 Lantern Folk House Concert 2279 Selkirk Dr. events@kelownanow.com
