5 upcoming bargain events in Kelowna you don't want to miss!

It’s the best time of the year for bargain shoppers to snap up deals with plenty of sales taking place all over Kelowna.

Some of the most popular events don’t happen in retail stores, but rather, the back of a trunk, at a shop and swap and more. We’ve put together a list of upcoming sales events to check out that will help those on all sorts of budgets.

Okanagan Vintage Fair
Sept. 16 and 17
Time: 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Okanagan Vintage Fair will return to Kelowna this fall and feature everything retro, classic and curious. The event will take place at the Royal Anne Hotel and will include full bar service and coffee and snacks to keep you fueled for shopping. Vendors will be set up with clothing, shoes and accessories, housewares, musical equipment and more. The inaugural fair saw more than 1,100 people attend and 20 different vendors set up. This year is expected to be even bigger and better.

Pregnant Fabulous and Beyond!
Sept. 18
Time:
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Okanagan parents and expectant parents will fill the Parkinson Rec Centre for the annual Pregnant and Fabulous, looking for the best deals and trends of the season. The fair features products and services available to parents in the Okanagan as well as local vendors, clinics, activities and prizes. Admission to the event is five dollars with partial proceeds going towards Mamas for Mamas, an organization that helps mothers in crisis in Kelowna.

Trunk Sale
Sept. 24
Time: 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The popular Trunk Sale will take place in the parking lot of Okanagan College again in September as people gather to conduct their own garage sale. The event is designed specifically for those who don’t have the space to conduct their own garage sale. Registration for the event begins Sept. 1 and if you would like to reserve a free spot to sell your items, make sure you are registered by Wed. Sept 21. Contact the Regional Waste Reduction Office staff at 250-469-6250. Registered sellers must set up between 7 and 8 a.m. on sale day.

The sale will include sellers with clothing, shoes, household items, furniture and more gently used items. It’s the ideal place for a student to find items for a new place, parents to find baby stuff, and bargain hunters to find a treasure. The event is rain or shine and admission is free.

Kelowna Closet Cleanout
Oct. 30
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kelowna’s fall fashion flea market will be held this October at the Parkinson Rec Centre, but at an earlier date than usual. The Kelowna Closet Cleanout usually takes place in November, but this year it will be held on Oct. 30. Every year, the popular event is filled with lots of tables of gently used clothing, shoes and accessories. The cash only event sees hundreds of men and women pass through the doors and some walk away with awesome door prizes. Entry to the market is just $5 per person and it is recommended to head there early before the best deals are snapped up.

Craft Culture Holiday Market
Dec. 10 and 11
Time: TBD

It’s known as one of, if not the biggest, market of the year and it will return once again this year to Prospera Place. The annual craft culture market may be months away, but the planning is well underway as hundreds of vendors have applied to take part in the two-day event. The market will include over 150 talented crafters and artisans selling handmade/designed wares. This year will include a wine bar selling glasses daily beginning at noon, live music, swag bags and door prizes. Prospera Place is expected to be filled over the two days as admission is just five dollars and features everything and anything you could possibly imagine. Mark it on your calendar now so you don’t forget.
