Rhonda Tannahill

What do you always find yourself saying?
Oh shoot. Can you send me a reminder?

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
Justin Timberlake. I love him. I love his music - his whole persona. We’d spend the day on the golf course, shooting tequila and the evening listening to him sing.

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
I’d be so honoured to learn that Mint had been recognized for an award from the National Magazine Awards.

If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Princess Diana. She was a beautiful woman both inside and out. I’d love to know what inspired her so fiercely to want to change the world, what she loved most about being a mom and how she balanced life as a member of the royal family.

Who inspires you?
My daughters. I aspire to be a strong female role model for them. They make me want to be the best version of myself both in my career and personal endeavours that I can be.

What are three things on your bucket list?
To see my company grow, to show my daughters the world and to retire young enough to say yes to any adventure.

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
Lolo bug (nicknames for both of my daughters).

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
I love spoiling kids. I would choose to foresee the day my first grandchild is born. My gals are growing quickly and becoming so independent. I look forward to days spent snuggling a little babe again.

What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about helping others. It sounds cliché but I honestly love seeing people succeed in business and life. If I can be any part of that, I am happy. There is nothing so rewarding as helping someone.

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
The day I became a mom. Enough said.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I wish I could describe to you the feeling of producing our first issue of Mint. It was incredible. It was a collaboration of hard work, creative efforts, long hours and determination. I am so proud of everyone who touched our inaugural issue and so grateful to everyone who believed we could. We can’t wait to show you what the future issues hold!

Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
Krafty Kitchen + Bar. I especially love the team behind Krafty. Both the food and drink menus are pretty amazing. If you haven’t been, you absolutely need to go.

What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna? Why?
Summer in general, the beaches, boating and being in the sun. Nothing beats lake life.

To empower the people I work with to live a life that breeds passion and creativity. Hard work is seamless when you love what you’re doing in both business and life.

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
To continue to grow my staff, network with inspiring individuals and more readers.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
Thriving!

Who do you consider to be a forerunner within your field?
NY Mag. I mean it’s New York, they will always be a forerunner.

What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
Adventure, passion, and a desire to be the best.

What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
Thank you for always having my back and for your commitment to our success.

How does your business/organization impact the community?
We bring the personal element of business to life, one local story at a time.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
I would interrogate them! I love talking with successful entrepreneurs and absorbing as much of their wisdom and knowledge as possible. I’d love to know what they would have done differently, what they are most proud of and if they’d do it all over again.

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
I’d import more people I love.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The lakes, the people and everything in between. This could potentially be an enormous list if I were to hone in on all the lovely details why Kelowna is so amazing but we all know what they are, they are the reasons we live and work here!
