Where are you from and how long have you lived in Kelowna?
I'm from Australia and have lived in Kelowna for 3 months.

Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My roommate/best friend James - he convinced me to travel to Japan with him and we've been besties ever since.

What is your favourite local store in Kelowna and why?
Bread Co - I'm a sucker for good food and coffee.

Describe yourself in one word.
Tenacious.

If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Greece - it's next on my bucket list.

What is your favourite activity in Kelowna?
I would LOVE to get back into waterskiing in the Summer - but either snowboarding on Big White or taking a group of friends to an Escape Room.

What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Turning up in full costume to a party that apparently wasn't a costume party.

What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
My little sister had been through a rough patch with her relationships and work - but she still persevered and ended up in her dream job, graduating the training course at the top of her class and while it wasn't easy - she took every challenge in her stride and kept focused on her dream. She inspires me every day.

Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
My favourite childhood memory is definitely camping on the river with my family. Fire, water-skiing and bike riding. Typical Aussie summer.

Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I am an ambassador for Her International - I'm currently organizing a GymPowerment camp through Kelowna Gymnastix to raise funds for Her International! We just hosted an Ambition Parkour Fundraiser and raised $733 towards Her International as well!

If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
There would be cinematic background music to everyone's lives all the time.

Where would you sneak away to in Kelowna to spend some time alone?
I really love Scenic Canyon Regional Park

Where would you like to see positive change in Kelowna and why?
I'd love to see a positive change for the homeless in Kelowna. Especially now it's getting colder, it breaks my heart. I have people in my life that have been homeless- some of them at least couch-surfed before they got on their feet again, some of them were on the street. It just brings to light that it could be me or you, and it could be for the most mundane of reasons.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
The diversity of activities - the lake for the summer and the mountains for the winter. It's a dream!

What are 3 things on your bucket list?
- Travel to as many countries as possible
- Adopt a rescue dog (once I've decided where 'home' is)
- See the Northern Lights

How do people connect with you, personally, through social media? (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
Instagram : _hopelessquoter_
FB/LinkedIn: Baylee Sinclair

What is the name of your business/organization?
Kelowna Gymnastix

Why did you get into/start this business?
I broke my ankle in circus school, and decided to coach gymnastics while I recovered - turned out it was my passion!

What is the goal of your business?
To help nurture strong, healthy kids through the sport of gymnastics.

What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Not taking on every task! I am so passionate about doing everything I can to make everything great for kids, that I forget that I am only one person.

If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Everything the same - every decision I've made has contributed to who I am, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

What do you always find yourself saying?
FUN!

Tell us your best piece of life advice.
Whatever you give out to the world, you receive tenfold in return. So if you're constantly positive, you'll receive positivity. If you're constantly negative, you're going to have a bad time.

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
My dad. Cheesy, but he's my idol. He has struggled through so much and come out the other side, we spend hours just talking about life.

Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
You're supporting local families instead of big corporations. It's nice to think that your purchase helped send their kid to dance class, not just into the pocket of a big corporation.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
That's a hard one, maybe winning gold at Australian State Championships for Acrobatic Gymnastics in 2018.

Give someone you think that deserves it a shout out and explain why!
Dave Huber.

Some general comments I would like to share are:
I am an Australian Gymnastics Coach, specialising in Acrobatic Gymnastics, Womens Artistic Gymnastics and Pre-School Gymnastics. I am the current Pre-School Director at Kelowna Gymnastix, but teach all age groups from walking to adults. I attended the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne, Australia- and graduated Year 12 with a Cert IV of Circus Arts. I'll also be performing in the upcoming Trinity Church Christmas Show!
