Meet Bethany. Bethany is originally from the Okanagan! She recently moved here from Vernon last summer. She loves discovering new local trails with her pup and spending some quality time with her daughter, Logan.
Where are you from and how long have you lived in Penticton?
Vernon and now Penticton, been in Penticton since August 2018.
Who is your favourite person to spend time with and why?
My daughter Logan, she is my whole world and I am just fascinated at this mini-me person who is so smart, sweet and beautiful. She teaches me things every day and I am who I am because of her.
What is your favourite local store in Penticton and why?
Fritz shoes - because shoes!!! Need I say more?
Describe yourself in one word.
Driven.
If you could go anywhere in the world right at this moment where would you go and why?
Mediterranean Cruise, I've been before and it was the most amazing trip ever! The history in Europe is something that you can't describe other then goosebumps when you walk on the same ground as leaders from thousands of years ago did.
What is your favourite activity in Penticton?
Love walking my dog in some of the beautiful areas! Can't wait to search out more trails and get my bike out!
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened to you?
Bathing suit falling off - oops!
What is the most inspiring thing that has happened to you?
Following in the footsteps of some brilliant strong women that run the other Smooth Effects clinics and help support me every day! Morgan Higgins, Judy Walcher, Kelsey Raber and Lisa Cool.
Tell us your favourite childhood memory.
Camping in Osoyoos or Penticton, my parents would take me and my brothers there for 2 weeks every summer and we had the time of our lives and created the best memories! Who would have thought as an adult I would have actually ended up living here!
Where do you volunteer or give back to in the community?
I donate free services and coupons to many fundraisers and events.
If you could change one thing in the world what would it be?
Anger.
Where would you sneak away to in Penticton to spend some time alone?
Definitely the beach, I'm a water girl through and through, and those views <3
Where would you like to see positive change in Penticton and why?
The homeless and/or drugs on beaches and bathrooms. I've heard lots of people warning me about needles in some areas and to be careful. I think this is something we shouldn't have to worry about with our kids or pets.
What do you think makes Penticton great?
The people! I've never met such kind and welcoming people then Penticton's very own.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
-Staying in a cabana hut out by the ocean in Bora Bora
-Northern Europe Cruise
-Mediterranean Cruise (where I haven't been)

I'm quite a dork and I think I'm hilarious.

Why did you get into/start this business?
I needed a change in my career and I believe things happen for a reason.
What is the goal of your business?
To change peoples lives, it really works!!
What has been your biggest struggle either at work or in life?
Staying positive, sometimes the universe likes to make you question yourself, but the mind needs to stay focused and positive.
If you could start all over again would you do things the same or would things be different?
Absolutely the same!
What do you always find yourself saying?
Please and thank you LOL - I can't do it without the help of my staff and daughter, have to always be grateful and acknowledge them!

"If things are meant to be they just snowball, don't fight it. It might not be what you would have thought in a million years, but when you embrace it, you will know right away that it was meant to be."
If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select?
Brad Pitt hehe - he's always been my crush, I wouldn't be able to resist meeting him :-)
Why do you think it is important to shop locally?
Support of the local community and small business owners, we have it hard these days with the government and big businesses, we need to stick together.
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
First my daughter!! Wow, she is the best!! Then I would say Smooth Effects! I never in a million years would have thought this is where I would be, and it was sooo meant to be!
