Andrew Lipsett is a man who cares for those around him. He has been known to go out of his way to make someone's day just a little bit brighter – to help them find their smile. It seems to be no accident then, that eventually he would want to capture those brighter days and smiles on camera for a living. A few years ago, Andrew took the risk to make his passion for photography into a career. He hasn't looked back and today he and Lipsett Photography Group are In Focus.

Who inspires you?
Those I am closest to.
What are 3 things on your bucket list?
1. Fly to the UK and back on a private plane.
2. Take at least three, minimum two-week-long jet trips a year to explore this amazing world.
3. Drive at speeds more than 300 km/hr on the German autobahn, and then hit the old Nürburgring race track.
All with camera in hand; although number three would have to be with a GoPro. Safety first!
If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
March 21, 2033, because I'd like to see what my life looks like in 20 years and make adjustments!
What are you passionate about?
When I'm behind the lens of my camera, it's my zen time. Thinking about how to capture the light, colour and emotion of my subject, and imagining the response the final image will elicit in those who see it is truly exciting!
Other things I'm passionate about are fairness and equality for all.
What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
The moment I realized "if it's meant to be, it's up to me" was very freeing!
What has been your proudest accomplishment?
In the past, each time I made a career change my dad would say, "Andrew, you could be a photographer." A few years ago, I finally turned a lifetime passion into a career and I couldn't be happier. I am blessed to do what I love every day. The lesson here? Always listen to your parents!

How does your business/organization impact the community?
I'm privileged to partner with some incredible local interior design firms and custom home builders to capture their stunning projects in photos that help them achieve industry recognition and awards such as the Tommies.
If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
I'd want to be trapped in an elevator with investors from the marketing industry. And rather than tell them all about what I do, I'd ask them to share what NOT to do in business, then I'd stand back and listen as they talked.
If I could change 1 thing about Kelowna, it would be:
The grey winters.
What do you think makes Kelowna great?
I love the climate and beauty of Kelowna, but it is the entrepreneurial spirit that flows through this community that really inspires me.
