Pup friendly adventures in the Okanagan

Explore the beautiful Okanagan this weekend with your four-legged furry friends. Summer is on its way and the only ones more excited about it than us, are our dogs! We made a list of all the spots to go hang out and enjoy with your pups.

Paul’s Tomb Trail and Beach - Kelowna

This is an incredible trail with a gorgeous backdrop! You can see the lake and mountains for miles and it's the perfect spot to snap a pic of you and your furry best friend. Be sure you are at the designated dog off-leash area in the park.

North Glenmore Dog Park - Kelowna

This fully fenced park is massive! It’s one big field with lots of other dogs running around, making it easy to make friends. Away from the city center, your pup will be running at top speed around the park, while breathing in fresh mountain air.

Ellison Dog Park - Kelowna

This park has two great sections. The first is a smaller area, which is better for keeping an eye on your furry buddy. This part of the park has lots of room and benches for you and your pal to enjoy. The other section offers trails, trees and bushes for you both to explore!

Cedar Creek Park - Kelowna

Kelowna’s full-dog beach access! You’ll have just as much fun watching your dogs goof off, swim, splash, blow bubbles and play with the other friendly pups, as they do.

BX Ranch Dog Park - Vernon

You’re guaranteed to have a fun-filled day at the BX Ranch Dog Park! There is a large open space for your dogs to run around and play. If you're more into exploring, there are also trails in the back that are dog and human friendly. Finally, you can let your pup enjoy a nice water break at the nearby creek!

Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park Pet Beach - Lake Country

The doggy area for this stunning beach is a 10-minute walk to the eastern end of Cosens beach. Take in those gorgeous views of Vernon's turquoise lake, while strolling along with your pup, finding as many sticks as possible, of course.

Okanagan Lake Park Dog Beach - Penticton

This beach is perfect after a little hike and exploration in Penticton. Make sure to keep your dogs ON leash until you have fully entered the fenced beach area. Bring the tennis balls and frisbees and get playing!

Three Mile Beach – Penticton

The south side of this beach is designated to boats and dogs. Most other beaches are quite rocky and it’s best to use water shoes when playing with your dog in the water. This beach, however, offers a sandy place to sit and play without having to worry about sun-tanning beach goers!

Sudbury Beach on Skaha Lake - Penticton

Just a short ways past the Skaha Marina, there is a fully fenced, off leash, beach area for dogs to enjoy Skaha Lake. Build sandcastles and have your pup pounce them down!

Now grab those leashes and get out there! Bring lots of drinking water, treats, snacks and don’t forget your camera to get some rad action shots of your pup! Tag #KelownaNow to be featured on our Instagram.
