But wait, you forgot something. It can’t be true!? How is it possible? With all the lists, the checking of things twice- how could this happen?
The terrifying thought crosses your mind...nothing is open on Christmas Day!
And then you remember, Hallelujah! We live in Prince George, the shopping mecca of the North! Christmas is saved!
Should you find yourself in this situation, fret not- here is a list of some of the stores braving the tills this Christmas day:
1. The PGI Market on 5th Avenue
Like a good friend, the PGI Market is always there when you need them. With a full range of grocery selections, a fantastic bakery, deli, snack bar and more, what more could you need to fill the void this Christmas? Get back on track and feel the satisfaction with the perfect items to complete the day. All will be okay!

2. Shoppers Drug Mart (Pine Centre Location)
Take a sigh of relief- Shoppers Drug Mart might just be your biggest hero this Christmas season. They carry pretty much everything under the sun, from food to toys and everything in between. In order to save yourself from looking like a looney-bin, you should resist the urge to kiss the cashier.
Christmas Day hours: 10am-4pm
3. Denny’s
Emergency eggs, anyone? If you happened to forget to stock up for the big Christmas breakfast, Denny’s has your back. Fill up your belly with warm, satisfying goodness, and leave the clean-up to the professionals. You’ve earned this!
Christmas Day hours: 6am-2pm
4. 10th Ave Liquor Store
Who doesn’t love a little wine with their big turkey feast? 10th Ave Liquor Store has local brews to international delights for every palette. They are known for their top-notch service and are backed by a Citizen Reader’s Choice Award for 2017 as the Best Cold Beer and Wine Store. You know you’ve got your bubbly covered at this local liquor joint.
Christmas Day hours: 9am-11pm
For the most part, all of the big box stores are shut down for the big day, but there will be some gas stations open for business.
