The BC Coroners Service has identified the youth who died after an accident on a Penticton street on August 16th.
Penticton's Drew Kenneth Wolfe Fraser, aged 18, has been identified as the victim of the fatal incident involving a motor vehicle. According to the coroner Fraser was a pedestrian walking westbound on Eckhardt Avenue at about 1:45 a.m. Saturday morning. He was near the intersection of Alberni Avenue when he was in a collision with a fully loaded dump truck.
He was deceased at the scene according to RCMP. Friends have described him as “one of Penticton's brightest and energetic young souls” on social media. Friends have started a memorial page for the recent high school graduate and plan to plant a memorial tree in his honour.
A celebration of life service will be held for Fraser on Friday August 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at the Shatford Centre in Penticton. Fraser graduated from Princess Margaret Secondary School in June and worked at the local Real Canadian Wholesale Club.
