A local charity, Inn From the Cold (IFTC), is asking for donations to meet city requirements and obtain an occupancy permit on their new long-term housing project. The Chandler Street Housing Project, currently delayed in renovations, will provide permanent housing to eight men with chronic homelessness. In this house, men will receive mental and physical support through individualized care plans in a long-term approach to create a healthier community.
Inn From the Cold uses the Housing First policy that “providing housing is the first step to transitioning out of homelessness, not the last.” This approach allows a stable foundation for individuals to work on their care plans in order to have a stronger long-term impact.

To finish renovations and open the house as soon as possible, Inn From the Cold is asking for monetary donations. The money contributed will go towards building materials and labour, additional room furnishings, and operating costs. IFTC hopes to hold an open house in the first week of September. Donors and sponsors are welcome to come and will be thanked on camera.
Additionally, this charity is looking for community or corporate sponsors to subsidize the Chandler Street Housing Project annually. In return, Inn From the Cold will advertise their sponsors' logos on the building and website.
