VIDEO: BC police catch cat chasing off coyote in parking lot

Coyotes continue to be an issue in Stanley Park, with the latest attack resulting in a woman being bitten while she was running on the seawall.

If people want to feel safer while using the park, they may want to consider bringing along a house cat for their evening run. At least that's the impression we're getting after seeing a video posted to Twitter by the Port Moody Police today.

A couple of officers were in the right place at the right time to witness a cat scare off a coyote in a vacant parking lot.

The Port Moody Police said that the officers were on duty in the early morning hours when a cat and a coyote were seen chasing each other around.

The cat was victorious, sending the coyote running out of the parking lot and into the night.

“The things our patrol officers see at 4am... cat 1, coyote 0,” the department said.
