A WestJet pilot surprised hangry Air Canada passengers on Wednesday after their flights got rerouted while traveling to St. John’s.
The situation occurred after an Air Canada plane flying from Toronto to St. John’s couldn’t land due to bad weather conditions. As a result, the plane temporarily landed late at night in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
According to passenger John Samms, a WestJet pilot then appeared and offered everyone pizza.
Thanks to the @Westjet employee who is currently making the effort to get food for stranded @aircanada passengers in Fredericton! 1/2

An Air Canada employee then attempted to respond to the WestJet pilot's offer as well as make up for the inconvenience by offering a $10 voucher to passengers.
However, according to Samms, there was no way to use the voucher as there were no restaurants.
I feel bad for the @aircanada employee, who just feebly offered a $10 voucher as (I presume) a response to the @westjet overture.

...problem with that is, there is no way to use the voucher here as there are no restaurants. While hungry, at least I'm entertained now.

Then, the pizza ordered by the WestJet pilot arrived!
Awkward but funny moment: @westjet guy walks in and says "hey guys I'm from Westjet and we do things differently, want some pizza?" 2/2

Here is the @westjet legend who got us @aircanada passengers food. AC said it was impossible! pic.twitter.com/M69eoU6RDv

The pilot who ordered the pizza will go down as a legend and maybe make people think twice about which airline to choose when flying to their next destination.
