Purolator will no longer accept new shipments as their employee union threatens to strike.
On Monday, 56% of the members of Teamsters Canada rejected the company’s latest offer and issued a 72-hour strike notice.
Purolator's final offer has been rejected by members. Therefore, we've served a 72 hour notice of strike action to the company.

If it goes through, the strike will commence Wednesday March 29th at 4:30 p.m.
“Purolator is optimistic that we will reach an agreement quickly. However, in order to protect our customers from being negatively impacted, we will suspend acceptance of new shipments effective Tuesday, March 28, 2017,” the company wrote in a statement on Tuesday morning.
They expect that shipments currently in the system prior to March 28th will be delivered.
“We apologize to our valued customers for this unfortunate disruption,” said HR president at Purolator, Ken Johnston. “We are deeply disappointed in the outcome of Sunday’s vote and in Teamsters Canada’s decision to issue 72-hours’ notice for strike action.
“However, we look forward to returning to the bargaining table, working diligently to negotiate a new agreement and getting back to delivering our customers’ packages.”
