The Canadian Food Inspection Agency announced another flour-related national food recall on Saturday. The product being recalled includes cookie dough, pie shells and tart shells.
According to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, there were 30 reported cases of E.coli 0121 with the same strand since November 2016. Of the 30 cases, 13 were in British Columbia. The illness onsets range from November 2016 to April 2017. Eight individuals were hospitalized and no deaths were reported.
While CFIA is saying the the outbreak is over and no new cases have been reported since April 2017, there are still more recalls being reported and consumers should use caution and follow the recall directions of the CFIA.
