Since the news of Gord Downie's passing broke Wednesday morning, tributes have poured in for the iconic Canadian from coast to coast.
Downie was well known for his lyrics detailing the Canadian experience and tributes for the Tragically Hip's front man have been fittingly Canadian.
But arguably the most "Canadian" tribute came from Parliament Hill Thursday afternoon.
The iconic Peace Tower carillon honoured the Canadian legend with a fitting tribute by playing the Tragically Hip's iconic tune 'Bobcaygeon' on its bells.

They are playing a Gord Downie song on the bells from the Peace Tower in Ottawa. And the flag is at half mast. That is how we respect Canadians

With minor chords, major lifts, Bobcaygeon not the easiest tune to handle in a carillon karaoke. Kudos to the Peace Tower for stepping up.

According to a statement from the Tragically Hip, Downie died peacefully on Tuesday night, surrounded by his family and friends after a 17 month battle with brain cancer.
The world premiere of The Tragically Hip documentary has been moved up to this Friday night.
