Thousands of people around the world had opposing opinions on Cristiano Ronaldo’s new haircut during the U.S.A. and Portugal match on Sunday.
The zig-zag pattern across the side of his head had non-Portugal fans making fun of the soccer superstar, while supporters defended him all over social media. The main point of contention being the report that Ronaldo shaved the pattern into his head to mirror the scar on a child’s head, whose brain surgery Ronaldo paid for.

With over $80,000 of him own money, Ronaldo paid to have a tumor removed from the brain of Erik Ortiz Cruz, who had a condition called cortical dysplasia which can lead to as many as 30 seizures a day.
While the story of Ronaldo paying for the surgery (which happened back in March) is in fact true, there has been no confirmation that his haircut is also in support of Erik.
