For our third edition of Get Local, we’re featuring a local favourite, Kennell’s Shoes!
If you are like most Kamloopsians, then you are all about supporting local businesses. And this business has been receiving love for many years! Since 1948, Kennell’s Shoes has been a household name for many families.
This third generation family-owned business has been around longer than some of you have. And to be honest, not much has changed, the store still has its nostalgic charm and the customer service is better than ever. Any day of the week that you wander through Kennell’s Shoes you will be able to find at least one of the Kennell’s working!
“We take a very personal approach with our customers, lots of them have been coming to our store for years so the reputation we have built with them is very important,” said Jessica Kennell.
Since its inception, the Kennell’s have relied on word-of-mouth. A common phrase that locals tend to say when they walk through the door is, “I remember when my parents brought me in here to buy my school shoes, that was over 30 years ago!”
One of the reasons why we love Kennell’s Shoes is they still maintain their old-fashioned ways which makes their store unique. Every customer, new or old, is offered a shoe size fitting before purchasing a pair of shoes.
“We take pride in the service we provide, and our small size helps us maintain a one-on-one customer experience when looking for all your footwear needs. Whether it be dress, casual or steel toe boots, we want you to be happy and completely satisfied with your purchase,” added Jessica.
With the fourth generation coming into the business to carry it on, the Kennell's Shoes legacy will live on.
