When the 2020 Memorial Cup presented by Kia takes over Kelowna, we’re going to be treated to an unforgettable event that ignites our bustling community.
From across the nation, all eyes will be fixated on us when hockey-fans, tourists, media and scouts ascend on the Okanagan to witness the Canadian Hockey League’s (CHL) elite battling it out for the top honour in junior hockey.
This tournament is a chance for the host team, our Kelowna Rockets, to compete against the league winner of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL in a display of competitive excellence.
To these athletes, the Memorial Cup is more than a game. In what may be the defining moment of their young careers, this is their platform to showcase everything they’ve ever worked for on a national stage.
An event of this calibre requires an incredible amount of time and commitment from the players on the ice, coaches behind the bench, fans in the stands and volunteers behind the scenes.
Hence, the 2020 Memorial Cup is seeking volunteers to serve as the welcoming committee, roleplayers, playmakers and more!
Along with helping your resume gleam with the volunteer experience that comes with this CHL event, there’s promotional items, apparel, lounge access, rewards and recognition in it for you too — including a special volunteer closing party with food, beverages and prizes.
