Unveiling Vancouver's Most Romantic Hotel: JW Marriott Parq

We’ve been traveling the world with our kids for almost 9 years now and are the biggest cheerleaders for parents who make an effort to provide global experiences for their children. It isn’t always easy to forego routines and upend nap times in order to see the world, however, we’ve always felt the reward is worth the hassle. On the other hand, there is also something to be said for leaving the kids at home with a trusted loved one, to reconnect with your significant other without the distraction of sticky fingers, tantrums, and the 6 am wakeup call of a hangry toddler.

This past weekend we escaped to Vancouver for a kid-free weekend to enjoy the bustling cityscape of Vancouver at the JW Marriott Parq Hotel. The JW Marriott Parq stands as an oasis of luxury, designed to cater to discerning couples seeking an unforgettable romantic retreat. From exquisite accommodations to enticing dining experiences and captivating local attractions, every aspect of this getaway promises to inspire love and relaxation.

The accommodations at the JW Marriott Parq are truly luxurious. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the breathtaking city or water views, creating a sense of tranquility. Cozy up on a plush king-sized bed adorned with crisp, high-thread-count linens, promising a night of ultimate indulgence. The marble bathroom, complete with oversized soaking tubs and rainfall showers, beckons relaxation, while high-end bath amenities pamper your senses. Whether you choose a spacious suite or a cozy room, every detail whispers luxury, ensuring an unforgettable stay in the heart of Vancouver's vibrant downtown core. Book your room here.

Begin with a unique dining experience at The Victor, a restaurant whose name pays homage to the idiom, To the victor go the spoils! Situated on the hotel's sixth floor with expansive views of False Creek, The Victor offers an unparalleled culinary experience.

Couples can savor perfectly grilled steaks, fresh seafood dishes and sushi, and a superb selection of wines in an intimate setting adorned with modern décor and high vibes. Each dish is unique and elegant with flavors that showcase the seasons. Indulge in the exclusive Blossom Festival menu until the end of the month!

Take the opportunity to sleep-in and have breakfast delivered to the room. If you’re feeling keen, head to the world class, 24 hour gym on the 17th floor. Your morning run will overlook the mountains and city skyline. You can also request personal training sessions and private yoga in the outdoor Aqua Lounge or in the private couple’s suite.

The Aqua Lounge hydrotherapy tub is perfect for warming up for your next experience: a couple’s massage at the Spa by JW.

This massage ruined me for all future massages for the rest of my life, I’m sure of it! Let me set the scene for you in case you think I’m being dramatic. First, a caring staff member will greet you and bring you to the change room where you will change into a spa robe and slippers, have a steam followed by an iced cucumber face towel, and tour the spa.

Your masseuse will meet you in the greeting lounge and take you to the couple’s room where you will choose the signature scent for your massage from a selection of essential oil blends. As you stretch out on the heated massage table you will inhale the essential oils and have your feet washed with a hot towel before completely melting into the best massage you’ve ever had.

Afterwards, you’ll be led to the post-treatment lounge with a flute of prosecco or sparkling apple juice for snacks, tea, citrus water, and floor to ceiling views to watch the city from. This is the part of the weekend where you go from wondering what your kids are doing, to forgetting their names.

One of the best parts about this hotel is the location. We took the Canada Line skytrain from right inside the airport to downtown and a quick walk led us right to the hotel. There’s no need to rent a car as you’re within walking distance to all the best neighborhoods like Yaletown, Gastown, and Waterfront. If you do want to get around a little faster, take the aquabus (just $19 to hop on and off all day long), or grab one of the many ride share cars parked around the city like Evo.

An experience we highly recommend in the heart of Vancouver’s downtown waterfront is Fly Over in Vancouver. With flight motion seats, a wraparound screen, and special effects like scents and even a little mist, you feel completely immersed in this epic story.

Now showing is Windborne: Call of The Canadian Rockies, a spectacular ‘flight’ over some of the Rocky Mountain’s most beautiful scenes. We dove between incredible peaks, surreal sunrises, and felt the clouds on our face as we circled the landscape. Watch the trailer here. Also showing, Wonders of the American West, a breathtaking look at some of the USA’s most iconic landscapes such as the Grand Canyon and Zion National Park. Book tickets for Fly Over Canada here.

This Vancouver escape wasn't just about luxurious accommodations and stunning cityscapes, though those certainly didn't hurt. It was a much-needed reminder that amidst the joyful chaos of parenthood, nurturing our relationship as a couple is vital. Stealing moments away to reconnect, explore new places, and simply enjoy each other's company reignites the spark that keeps our love story vibrant. We return home feeling not just refreshed, but ready to face the everyday adventures with renewed energy and a deeper appreciation for the incredible team we are, both as parents and as partners.
