(UPDATE: Dec. 24): Congrats to the Wilden neighbours at 1862 Hidden Lake Place for being voted 'Best Decorated Home in Wilden'.

Thank you to everyone who participated and voted, you helped make Wilden shine a little brighter this holiday season!

Look below to read the original story and see all of the beautifully decorated entries.

(Original story: Dec. 17 @ 8:30 am)

The community of Wilden has decorated their homes by creatively hanging Christmas lights and ornaments so shiny and bright that we can neither confirm nor deny that the Christmas lights in Wilden are visible from space.

Which is perfect because right now anyone who can see the lights can vote on their favourite house, and yes, that includes our loyal followers on the all-new intergalactic platform, MarsNow.

Jokes aside, we need your help in picking the winner of the 'Best Decorated Home in Wilden’.

Voting is open to all Wilden and non-Wilden residents, just "like" your favourite picture on the Wilden Facebook page.

The home with the most likes by Sunday, December 22nd at 11:59 pm will receive the title of ‘Best Decorated Home in Wilden’ and win an awesome prize package that includes a $200 Gift Card to Sparkling Hill Resort, two Wilden stainless steel mugs, a cozy Wilden toque, hot chocolate and a bottle of wine from Niche Wine Co.

The homes chosen for this contest were decided by the team in Wilden who took a stargazing stroll through each of their nine neighbourhoods to select homes for the 2019 Wilden XMAS Light Contest.

As they walked within this Wilden winter wonderland, the team snapped some photos and even caught up with a few homeowners to ask what they loved most about the holidays. Along with the four shimmering and shining homes above, below are more of their selections.

Now let us take you for a stroll through this Wilden Wonderland.

Together with their children and pets, Doug and Janet of 131 Split Pine Court always get a kick out of decorating Christmas cookies and eating them too. As you can see from this front and back reveal, this family clearly has an eye for decorating.

Every year, their favourite holiday activities include putting up lights and as a family, going to the Christmas tree farm to select their Christmas tree, which as you may have guessed, is very well decorated too.

Bob and Dorothy who live at 191 Upper Canyon Drive, love spending the holidays with their friends at get-togethers and festive parties.

And if these two only put a fraction of their time into planning their holiday party outfits as they do with decorating their Wilden home, they're probably taking home 'best dressed' at those parties too.

Catching up with Jeff at his well-decorated home at 214 Wilden Ridge Drive, he told the team at Wilden that he chooses to decorate his home because it makes his 4-year old son happy.

"My son gets a real kick out of the Christmas lights and I do this for the rest of the neighbourhood kids too because it helps put us in the spirit."

The lights at 854 Big Rock Court are so 'big', that even the photographer had to take a step back to fit all of the lights in the picture.

"My favourite thing of the season, even though I hate to say it, it’s the snow," laughed Terry Mitchell.

As someone who lived in the Okanagan their whole life, Terry loves how the snow cleanses the seasons.

"Once the snow comes down, everything turns...pretty," concluded Terry. "It just does."

When Lisa and Neil of 1200 Long Ridge Drive, were asked what they loved most about the holidays, Lisa quickly had some festive answers.

"Oh, my favourite thing about the season is definitely getting together with family...I love everything!"

As you can tell, they enjoy decorating, but Lisa really likes stocking stuffers!

"I love doing that," laughed Lisa.

This family also does an annual party every year to get together with their family and friends, they enjoy doing the twinkle tour, attending Christmas parties and watching Christmas light-ups too.

The only thing that's hidden about this home is its name. Because when you decorate like the folks at 1862 Hidden Lake Place, you illuminate the entire area of Wilden.

When Wilden asked Dan and his family what they loved most about the holidays, Dan quickly admitted that it's spending time with family. He included that another part of the season he adores is spreading cheer.

"I love doing this for the neighbours," added Dan, one of the homeowners. "I always say, decorate inside for you, and decorate outside for your neighbours."

Another home that's far from being hidden is 1966 Hidden Ridge Place, where Elaine says that her favourite thing about the season, is getting the family together to spend some good quality time with each other.

This family believes that the season is all about the magic and that's why they spread Christmas cheer across Wilden.

"It's for the children who get excited about Santa and everything," Eliane concluded with mysticism. "It’s so so magical and I love that."

One of the happiest people you'll meet in Wilden is DB, who lives at this festively decorated home located at 181 Red Rock Court.

"My favourite thing!?!" DB asked incredulously (jokingly). "I thought Christmas lights would be my favourite thing."

DB continued to laugh and brighten up the team by enlightening them with stories of how he loves Christmas lights because they bring joy and happiness.

When meeting with Peter and Brenda of 125 Terrace Hill Place, they wanted everyone to know that the holidays are a special time to gather the family.

A decorative exterior is welcoming and this encompasses the spirit of the season and the Wilden team couldn't agree more.

Now that you've gone walking in a Wilden wonderland, please cast your vote by clicking over to the Wilden Facebook page and like the one you thought was best.

That's all you have to do. Just hit like, love or react on your favourite. Also, nobody will judge you if you like two or three, because even the team at Wilden couldn't decide on one XMAS Light Contest entrant per neighbourhood and that's why there are 13 participants in nine neighbourhoods.

And if you can't decide, come take a walk through Wilden.

Spread over the hillside along Okanagan Lake, a short 10-minute drive from downtown Kelowna, lies Wilden, a community that has mastered the art of growing in population without losing its pristine beauty. Half of the roughly 1,500 acres will always be preserved as natural open space or public parkland.
