Apple unveiled its latest and greatest update to the beloved iPhone and people aren’t that happy about it.

The iPhone 7 will not have a headphone jack. This means the phone will come with wireless EarPods and a Lightning connector that will go into the charging port. According to Apple, sound from the iPhone 7 will be two times louder than an iPhone 6.

Apple said it was courage that allowed them to get rid of the jack, but others aren’t so sure that’s the right word to use.

In other news, the phone will be waterproof, will have the best battery life, wide colour system from camera to display and it will come in two different finishes.

“iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus dramatically improve every aspect of the iPhone experience, reaching a new level of innovation and precision to make this the best iPhone we have ever made,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing.

“The completely redesigned cameras shoot incredible photos and videos day or night, the A10 Fusion chip is the most powerful chip on any smartphone while delivering the best battery life ever in an iPhone, and an entirely new stereo speaker system provides twice the sound, all within the first water and dust resistant iPhone.”

The phone will have a 12-megapixel camera and it will include optical image stabilization. It will also feature an optical zoom two times and up to 10 times digital zoom for photographs.

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come in silver, gold, rose gold and two black finishes.

The enclosure results in a water resistant iPhone offering protection from spills, splashes and dust.

Apple also announced that the iPhone 7 will come with iOS 10, the “biggest release ever of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system.” iPhone users will see updates to messages, apps and the way Siri works.

When it comes to prices, the phone will start at $649 US.
