Joy in Zimbabwe as people call on Robert Mugabe to go

Thousands of Zimbabweans are gathering in the streets as they call for the long-time leader, Robert Mugabe, to resign.

People in Harare’s streets are marching to Mugabe’s home, thanking the soldiers, dancing, and demonstrating with signs.

They marched to State House, where they were eventually held back by the military. Protesters have reportedly been peaceful, and no looting or violence has taken place.

Mugabe was put under house arrest by the Zimbabwean military last week.
