Travelling can be stressful as it is, and it certainly doesn’t help when the airline loses your luggage.

AirHelp says they developed this annual report to combine expert knowledge and industry expertise to give air passengers the information they need to make better-informed decisions when booking flights.

The report found that the top three airlines in the world were Qatar Airways in Qatar in first place, Lufthansa from Germany in second, and Etihad Airways from the United Arab Emirates in third.

AirHelp says that, thanks to their excellent on-time performance and claims processing, Qatar Airways soared to the top. Worldwide, airlines including Lufthansa, Etihad Airways, Singapore Airlines, and South African Airways rounded off the top five.

The five airlines falling behind worldwide rankings with the lowest ratings included Air Mauritius, EasyJet, Pakistan International Airlines, Royal Jordanian Airlines, and WOW Air.

The top three airports in the world were Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, Athens International Airport in Athens, Greece, and Tokyo Haneda International Airport in Tokyo, Japan.

As for Canadian airlines, Air Canada took the 40th spot in the lineup, and Westjet wasn’t far behind in 41st place.
