The ski season is just over a month away, but skiers and boarders have to be licking their chops after seeing what transpired at Big White overnight.
Nearly 20 centimetres of fresh snow fell in the village, showcased by a post on Instagram from Michael Ballingall.
“So excited,” he wrote on Instagram. “Had to tell the world, this is the real deal Okanagan champagne powder.”
Despite being in Ottawa right now, Kelsey Serwa shared the same photo and expressed her excitement for the ski season by writing, “who’s pumped for winter?!!”
A nice dump of late October snow means the alpine snow base is now being tracked with one month and one week to go until opening day.
With temperatures consistently falling below 0°C overnight, there’s a good chance that we’ve seen the last of bare ground in Big White’s village until the spring.
Yesterday was the last day to buy you season pass for the early bird price of $699 (for adults) and the season pass will now cost $769 until Nov. 27.
Once the season starts on Nov. 28, the pass will jump all the way up to $1,049.
