There's still over a month until opening day, but skiers and boarders are likely drooling at the abundance of Okanagan champagne powder already falling at Big White Ski Resort.
The resort has received a dump of 21 cm in the past 24-hours and now boasts an alpine base of 41 cm.
"When it snows in October everyone gets excited, from the plough drivers to our Central Reservations department. The phones ring, people wax their boards and skis, and everybody gets pumped for the season," said senior vice president Michael J. Ballingall.
The season is scheduled to kick off on Nov. 26 and season pass holders during the 2019/2020 season are still eligible to receive a 20% discount on this year’s pass.
While the fresh snow is certainly exciting, there’s still plenty of the white fluffy stuff coming this year as Big White sees an average of 750 cm of snow annually.
Anyone thinking of enjoying the holidays up at the mountain may also want to check out the early season accommodation deals available.
