The business of creating pathways to support diversities

In this episode of Business Matters, presented by Valley First, a division of First West Credit Union, host Rob Cupello is joined by Bonnie Fraser and Charisse Daley from Pathways Abilities Society, a not for profit organization which has been providing services from Peachland to Oyama for 68 years.

Pathways Abilities Society provides support for over 225 people in the community through activity, residential and employment supports, they also operate a home share service.

The home share service through Pathways Abilities Society is a program where community members share not only their homes but their lives with a person with a diversability. This is a great way for community members to become a part of the Pathways Abilities Society community!

Employment services provided through Pathways Abilities Society include their integrated career opportunities program which works with businesses in the community to create customized job descriptions to best fit the needs of both the employer and the person with a diversability.

Pathways Abilities Society's residential supports include 18 apartment subsidies on behalf of B.C. housing as well as three homes to support independent living. Through their activity supports they average 5000 volunteer hours per year (pre-COVD) and provide community recreational leisure activities!
