Start your day off right with five things you need to know this morning.

Five things you need to know

1. Tokyo Olympics officially postponed

On Monday, IOC member Dick Pound told USA Today that the 2020 Summer Olympics had been postponed, but IOC president Thomas Bach would not confirm the news. Today, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe confirmed the news officially, saying the games would be pushed back to a date beyond 2020, but not later than summer 2021.

2. American man dies taking chloroquine phosphate to prevent COVID-19

A couple from Arizona tried to self-medicate to prevent themselves from getting COVID-19 and the results were deadly. The couple in their 60s consumed chloroquine phosphate, which is used to clean fish tanks, and the man died, while the woman ended up in the ICU. There are no approved drugs to prevent or treat COVID-19.

3. Ontario will begin workplace shutdown tonight

Ontario is the first Canadian province committing to a complete shutdown of all non-essential workplaces in an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19. It also means production of Big Brother Canada could be cancelled.

The Los Angeles Rams are heading into their brand new stadium this fall and they’re marking the change with a bit of a rebrand. The team unveiled their new logos and colours on Monday to very mixed reviews. LA’s new primary logo looks a lot like the Chargers’ logo, LA’s other NFL team, but the alternate ‘Ram’s Head’ logo is getting some praise from the fans.
