With so much negative news and understandable worry going around these days, it’s always refreshing to see a fun story come out of the woodwork.
That was the case this weekend thanks to the social media team of the Vancouver Whitecaps.
So... we won't be needing our team meals today.

The ‘Caps were supposed to play the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, but obviously the game didn’t take place thanks to the league’s current suspension due to COVID-19.
And while they couldn’t play soccer, that didn’t stop the two teams from battling it out in a good ol’ fashioned game of Connect 4.
So... we won't be needing our team meals today.

Vancouver issued the challenge at 10 am on Saturday, tweeting at the Rapids and asking if the team was “still up for a ‘game’ today?”
Colorado accepted the challenge and at 4 pm, it was on, with the team simulating a number of game-day experiences like the national anthem and starting lineup announcement.

The game got underway and the teams replying to tweets back and forth, slowly filling up the Connect 4 grid.
Eventually, the Whitecaps took the victory with a savvy move, forcing the Rapids’ hand and coming away with a massive three points.
As the home team, we'll go first..
