KelownaNow can confirm that an employee at the GoodLife Fitness location in Capri Centre Mall recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The gym notified its members by email on Thursday, Sept. 9, that the positive test may have potentially exposed some members.
According to the email, the staff member took part in both work shifts and personal workouts between 5:45 am and 5 pm on the following dates:
"The affected individual has not been back in the Club, or visited any other GoodLife Club, since Wednesday, September 2," wrote the club in the email.
"They followed all appropriate precautions under The GoodLife Standard, including wearing a mask for the duration of each of their shifts."
The facility claims it took several immediate actions in response to the potential exposure, including:
“We want to assure you that we take your safety and that of our team, very seriously. We will provide you with any necessary updates as we receive them,” the gym added in an email to its members.
“We will also work with the Interior Health Authority, following their direction, and encourage you to reach out to them if you need more information.”
