DriveBC is already warning that an accident on Highway 5 is delaying traffic in both directions. The backup is especially bad heading northbound from the Box Canyon Chain up Area to Great Bear Snow shed.

Environment Canada reminds drivers that weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.

“Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.”
