Dune: Part Two will be the first movie shown at the Starlight Drive-In this year

We’re a matter of days away from opening night at the Starlight Drive-In Theatre in Enderby.

After its usual winter hibernation, the popular drive-in movie theatre in the North Okanagan will officially open for the 2024 season on Friday, May 3.

And they’ll be opening with a bang, as they announced this morning that the first movie shown under the stars will be Dune: Part Two, arguably the biggest release of 2024.

Dune: Part Two will play Friday and Saturday night, beginning at 8:30 pm, and the drive-in will celebrate the start of its 23rd season by making tickets $23 per vehicle for opening weekend.

So far, we only know the schedule for opening weekend, but the Starlight website indicates that several exciting movies will be shown over the course of the 2024 season.

That includes Deadpool & Wolverine, The Fall Guy, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kraven The Hunter, The Garfield Movie, Despicable Me Four and more.

The iconic drive-in movie theatre draws people from all over the Thompson-Okanagan throughout the spring and summer months.

It’s located 30 minutes from Vernon, just over an hour from Kelowna and nearly 90 minutes from Kamloops.

Attendees will snuggle up in their vehicles, often bringing blankets, pillows, fairy lights and snacks with them to really amp up the experience.

While opening weekend is just a single feature, Starlight moves to double features during peak season with back-to-back showings that typically feature a kid-friendly movie earlier in the evening.
