This weekend marks the last one of Summer but rather than wallow in sadness, there is a rad event on Sunday to celebrate it’s final hours, and you should be there!
The Summers End party hosted at BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery, will not only commemorate another beautiful summer in the valley, but highlight the incredible artists that reside here.
Summers End was brought to life by organizer Nathan Huey, a Kelowna-based rapper, and his desire to support his fellow artists.
"I feel like especially with the growing cultural district it's apparent the city wants more events showcasing the arts, but I haven't seen much action," said Huey.
"In my mind, I thought 'why wait around for someone else to do when I can do it myself?' I just want to help locals support artists and help artists support each other in our various ventures."
The event will feature the talents of popular musicians from genres all across the musical spectrum including, Leila Neverland and members of Post-Modern Connection in addition to up and comers Mabaleka, Zoe Marie Welch, Luke Striker, Dojee Dan and more.
In addition to relishing in the glory of live music, attendees will have the chance to browse various merchant tables that showcase the creations of local artisans and boast merchandise from Okanagan retailers.
Doors to the event open at 4 pm on Sunday, Sept. 22, with the music and market ramping up at 5 pm until 11 pm.
Admission prices depend on when you arrive. The first 25 people will get in for free, with the next 50 attendees set to pay $10 each and so on. Prices will go up to $35, so get there early!
