Youth left with minor injuries after assault with a knife

Two youths under the age of 16 were involved in an assault with a knife at Saanich Plaza on Thursday afternoon.

According to police, officers received a call at 2:45 pm about an assault involving a knife that had just taken place inside a business at Saanich Plaza.

One person was injured as a result of an assault with a knife. The suspect left the store but was located by officers not far from the plaza.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident, where it was discovered that they too had sustained minor injuries from the
incident inside the business.

The victim and suspect were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening.

Police said that the two individuals were known to each other, and were under the age of 16.
