The BC Coroners Service has officially identified the woman who was mauled to death in Kamloops on Saturday.
Kamloops resident, Kathleen Green, aged 87, was found by a family member on the rural property where she lived at about 5:00 p.m. on January 30th. According to coroner Larry Marzinzik, evidence at the scene showed she had been attacked by a mixed-breed dog weighing about 60 pounds.
Green had been feeding the dog while it was chained to a structure on the property. Green was pronounced dead at the scene. Green was a village elder with the Tk'emlups First Nation.
Information about a funeral service has yet to be released. RCMP and the coroners service continue to investigation the circumstances following Green's death.
