A former Kamloops RCMP officer has been charged with dealing drugs while on the job.
Randi Love, who at one time worked as the Kamloops detachment’s media relations officer, has been charged with drug trafficking on three separate occasions while she was a member of the force.
Sgt. Rob Vermeulen of RCMP’s E-Division said the RCMP became aware of the allegations involving Love on July 16, 2015.
A comprehensive investigation was immediately launched and Love was suspended from duty on August 7, 2015.
According to Vermeulen, a detailed Report to Crown Counsel was submitted to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada with the full investigative findings, meeting their charge approval standards, and charges were approved.
A court date for Love is scheduled for June 16.
