(UPDATE: Nov. 15 @ 3 pm) - After new information sent searchers west of Kamloops last week, another break in the case has them heading north today.
Investigators learned over the weekend that her Jeep was seen travelling north on the Yellowhead Highway, past Rayleigh, around 5:30 pm on Monday, Nov. 2.
It then returned south and passed by Rayleigh around 45 minutes later.
Previously, the latest known location of her Jeep before it was found abandoned on Nov. 2 was west of Kamloops in the morning of Nov. 1.
“We are updating the public with this information as these search areas are large and winter is fast approaching," explained Cpl. Dave Marshall. "The more people out looking for Shannon in these areas the better.”
The RCMP is urging anyone who lives in, or is familiar with, the rural areas north of town to be on the lookout for anything related to the investigation.
That includes checking any game cameras that might have captured relevant footage that could assist investigators.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
(Original story: Nov. 12 @ 2:10 pm) - The exhaustive search for a missing Kamloops woman is focusing on a pair of new areas.
Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) is currently assisting the Kamloops RCMP in a search for Shannon White, or more clues, west of the city.
It comes after police received information that confirmed White’s vehicle left town for a 45-minute period on Nov. 1.
According to police, her Jeep was seen travelling west on the Trans-Canada Highway on the day she went missing, shortly after she was supposed to have arrived at work.
It was previously revealed that White left her home in Lower Sahali around 8 am on Nov. 1 and was supposed to arrive at her job at Kamloops Hyundai on Notre Dame Drive at 8:30 am.
“With this new information, the Kamloops RCMP are seeking any witnesses who may have observed Shannon’s Jeep west of Kamloops on Nov. 1 to please contact police,” said Cpl. Dave Marshall.
“We currently have a large search and rescue contingent searching for Shannon and we will continue to provide updates regarding the search and any additional assistance we may require from the public.”
The Kamloops RCMP also said that a police presence in the Silver Sage Trailer Park today is also related to the search for White, but didn’t provide any further details.
After going missing on Nov. 1, White’s Jeep was found parked on Nicola Street near 3rd Avenue the following day.
A pink flower that typically sat above her spare tire was no longer there.
“For Shannon to have missed work and not be in contact with friends and family, is completely out of character for her,” Cpl. Marshall said early in the investigation.
Anyone with information regarding White’s suspicious disappearance is urged to contact the Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000.
